Rough Creek Lodge and Resort is an outdoor traveler's dream in Texas Hill Country, SW of Dallas-Fort Worth.

Enjoy a rustic retreat without having to rough it. Whether you are lounging in your spacious living space or relaxing on the balcony with the beautiful countryside as your backdrop, Rough Creek Lodge and Resort offers plenty of outdoorsy fun along with accommodations that feature all the comforts of home … and then some.

Rooms are a destination not just a place to doze off.  Guest suites are named after historical Texans, as in the case with the Dwight D. Eisenhower suite. This is Rough Creek Lodge and Resort's way of telling guests that they're not just in a room with a number but that there is some history behind each room. Adding meaning to memories is the goal at Rough Creek Lodge and Resort.

MAIN LODGE

The Main Lodge is a fun alternative to a traditional hotel, featuring 51 Guestrooms and Suites, each offering five-star comforts and private balconies with hand-crafted rocking chairs overlooking Mallard Lake.

CABINS

For a more rustic adventure, there are four cabins tucked into the native Live Oak trees in the Pavilion area just one-half mile from the Main Lodge. Three cabins feature a fireplace, whirlpool tub and LCD TV. Coyote Cabin has a whirlpool tub, dining area and a bunk bed. All cabins have a screened porch with rocking chairs and charcoal grills, hammocks, microwave and refrigerator. Outside, you will find a tipi, playhouse and playground for the children, as well as three horseshoe pits and a washer pit. The pavilion area is a great place to pitch a few tents and let the children enjoy a night out "roughing it" with mom and dad nearby.

GUESTHOUSES

The Deer Run Guest House is a completely remodeled 2,000 square foot house just steps away from the Main Lodge. Just look outside in the evening or morning and you will see how it got its name...Deer Run is a great spot for deer watching! It features 3 bedrooms and 3 baths...the master bedroom has a king size bed and private bath; the two additional bedrooms have 2 full size beds in each bedroom. The comfortable living area has a full kitchen, plasma TV mounted above the fireplace and a full surround sound system. In the game room is another plasma TV, billiard table and bar area. A poker table is featured as well as a full kitchen with breakfast dining area. Outside is a rope swing for the kids and a hammock for mom and dad. The outdoor grill is a great place to cook up burgers and steaks under the big Texas sky.

The Owner's Retreat is a secluded 7,500 square foot home with 8 bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths with a private entrance from the highway. Upstairs are 6 bedrooms, a game room with billiard table, card table, sitting area with a plasma TV and a deck overlooking Chalk Mountain Lake.  Downstairs features 2 bedrooms, full kitchen and dining rooms, a great room with a huge rock fireplace and 50" plasma TV. Outside is your own private Chalk Mountain Lake with a bass boat, aqua cycle paddle boat and swimming platform. In the back yard you will find a grill and private fire pit to roast s'mores.
