Fishing: Come the spring season, melting winter snow makes for some of the best trout fishing in the Lake Placid, New York region, and experienced licensed guides can take you to the best spots the Ausable River and other local waterways have to offer.

Whiteface Mountain Biking

Whiteface Mountain offers lift-service mountain biking via the Cloud Splitter gondola and the High Peaks Mountain Adventure shuttle bus. There are many beautiful spots on the mountain with waterfalls, stream crossings, picnic tables and awesome views that shouldn't be missed.

Whiteface Nature Treks

Take a guided hike in the Whiteface forest along the West Bank of the Ausable River and down the Stag Brook Falls Trail. A boxed lunch and scenic Cloudsplitter Gondola Ride are included in this two-hour experience. Proper footwear is required and insect repellant is advised.

Tiger Stripe Paintball

Paintball is an outdoor/indoor participation sport. It is a combination of childhood "hide & seek" and "tag", but more sophisticated and challenging. A group of paintball players usually divide into two equal teams, varying in size from four or five to as many as several hundred on a side. Tiger Stripe has six diverse fields and equipment rentals available.

Pirates Cove Adventure Golf

Ahoy, Mates! Meet the challenge and discover the fun at Pirates Cove Adventure Golf, located just up the road from the High Peaks Resort in the Village of Lake Placid! Here you can learn about the legend of the Pirate's Cove while testing your skills on our challenging 18 hole miniature golf course. Ready for some swashbuckling fun?

Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway

An eight-mile climb from the crossroads in Wilmington, the Whiteface Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway ascends to the summit of the fifth highest mountain in the Adirondacks. The last five miles are the most spectacular as the road winds upward through a changing forest and an alpine summit environment. At the summit parking area, take a short hike to the very top or hop on the in-mountain elevator for a truly amazing 360-degree view of the surrounding wilderness.

White Water Rafting

Adirondac Rafting Co. invites you to enjoy one of the finest Whitewater rafting adventures in the East. The rafting season begins in early April and runs through late September. AuSable Chasm, open to the public since 1870, is one of the oldest natural attractions in North America. More than 10 million visitors have explored the Chasm on the nature trails with scenic vistas and waterfalls. Rafting in the Chasm also available for the perfect Adirondack adventure. Winter Activities

Located in the heart of six million acres of protected wilderness in New York’s Adirondack Park, Lake Placid has been called the winter sports capital of the world, and for good reason.
