Sun Peaks - Summer Activities

CANOE RENTALS - Canoe rentals are available at Sun Peaks for those with prior canoeing experience. Experience the nature that surrounds Sun Peaks as you maneuver your craft around McGillivray Lake which is only 6 km’s east of Sun Peaks.

PADDLE BOARDING - Experience the sport that runs through Hawaii’s beach boy history. Both a sport and a means of exercise, you will experience walking on water at the spectacular Heffley Lake.

GEO CACHING - The newest craze to hit the resort, Sun Peaks is offering the adventure of Geo Caching. This is an activity for all ages as you set your GPS and search out the several Geo Caches located all over the resort.

TRAIL RIDES - Prepare yourself for the breathtaking beauty of Sun Peaks back country as these guided trail rides take you through lush mountain landscape, around pristine Lakes and an array of fauna and flora.

KAYAKING - Sun Peaks offers you the choice of either taking a guided tour or rent one of their inflatable kayaks and go off on your own and explore. This is definitely an opportunity to beat the heat and to get away from it all as you choose which lake you want to explore.

GOLFING - If you have not had the opportunity to golf this Graham Cooke designed golf course then you are in for a treat. This is the highest course in British Columbia.

MOUNTAIN BIKING - 29 trails with 1,954’ of vertical await you at Sun Peaks bike park. Open every day from June 26 to September 6 and then on Saturdays and Sundays from September 7 to September 26.

HIKING - 15 hiking trails and over 29Km’s awaits you at Sun Peaks. Open daily from June 26 through to September 6 and then open weekends only from September 7 through to September 26. If you are planning on exploring Sun Peaks why not also take in the Alpine Blossum Season which begins the second weekend of July.

SIGHT SEEING - An abundance of bird, wildlife and wildflowers can be found in Sun Peaks. Pack your camera and binoculars before you make your trek out for the day.

Sun Peaks - Winter Activities

SKIING & RIDING - Enjoy 3,678 acres of terrain at Sun Peaks Resort. 2nd largest in British Columbia and 3rd largest in Canada. Course available for all levels of expertise. A variety of ski rental shops are available and The Hearthstone offers both ski packages and ski storage.

CROSS COUNTRY - During your stay at Sun Peaks, why not take in some of the breathtaking beauty that our resort has to offer. Explore the back country on over 22 km’s of cross country trails or enjoy 30 km’s of groomed trails.

ICE SKATING - A winter past time for young and old. Bring your skates and come on down to Sun Peaks full sized ice rink. Skate and stick rentals are also available.

SLEIGH RIDES - Come and cozy up on this 30 minute horse drawn sleigh ride that takes you through the village of Sun Peaks and along the snow covered golf course.

SNOWSHOE GOLF - The newest craze at Sun Peaks for all those die hard golfers. Snowshoe golf says it all. Visit the activities guest at the day lodge to rent your snowshoes, your club and golf ball and the course map and you are all set to go.

CAT TRAX GROOMER RIDES - Have you often wondered how the groomers each night work their magic on the slopes? Well now you can experience it first hand. Sun Peaks Resort offers Groomer Rides each night and each trip is 45 minutes long. All riders must be 14 years of age or older and only one per grooming machine.

DOGSLEDDING TOURS - Your choice of either hooking up and running your own team of dogs or taking the casual approach and sitting in the seat. Come and experience the backcountry snow at Sun Peaks.

TUBE PARK - Bring the family out and hit the tube park for a sliding adventure. Please visit the activities desk at the day lodge.

SNOWMOBILING - Come and experience Sun Peak’s backcountry at its finest. Choice of trips for both individuals and families alike. These snow excursions will take you through open meadows and frozen lakes.

KAMLOOPS BLAZERS HOCKEY - Book a night out to Kamloops to check out the Kamloops Blazer’s CHL Team.

HELI SKIING - During your stay at Sun Peaks why not check out Mike Wiegele’s 8 Peaks Heli skiing Experience.

SNOWSHOEING - The choice is yours. One can either choose to go on a guided snowshoeing tour or rent your snowshoes, grab your map and experience the terrain for yourself. For rentals please visit the adventure centre located in the Village Day Lodge.

MASCON HANGOUT - Located at Sun Peaks Sports Centre. Come and play video games or watch the latest ski and snowboard movies. Remember, leave the parents behind for this visit.

MINI Z'S KIDS SNOWMOBILES - Located next to the base of the Sundance Express Chair Lift. These sleds are perfect for children 3 ½ feet tall and less then 80 pounds.

SPORTS & AQUATIC CENTRE - The centre features a year round heated outdoor pool, hot tub, kid’s pool and is also the home of the Mascon Hangout.

SUN KIDS GROUP LESSONS - Sun Kids Group Lessons – for children 6 to 12 years of age to learn ski /boarding skills and spend time interacting with other children. Full day lessons include lunch.

SUNDANCE PLAY SCHOOL - child minding service for children 18 months to 5 years of age. Includes indoor and outdoor activities, snacks and lots of fun.
