Cacapon Resort State Park provides golfing, lake activities and hiking opportunities in West Virginia.

Hiking - Over 20 miles of trails are meticulously maintained for the hikers visiting the park. From a leisure walker to an avid hiker, Cacapon has a trail to suit you. Park map and trail guides are available at the front desk.

Wobble Clay (Trap) Shooting Range - Cacapon Resort’s newest outdoor sport activity is trap shooting, one of the three major forms of competitive clay pigeon shooting (shotgun shooting at clay targets). A fee based activity, each shooter has twenty-five shots per round with all shooting done under the authority of a range supervisor. The trap range does not require a hunting license but does require a reservation.

Horseback Riding - Well-mannered horses and experienced guides allow even the beginner to enjoy Mother Nature on horseback with Triple “C” Outfitters located at Cacapon State Park. Each ride is accompanied by an experienced guide that will lead you through the bridle trails of Cacapon. Pony rides are available for those a little less experienced.

Golf Course - At 2,300 feet, the championship golf course at Cacapon, designed by golf course designer Robert Trent Jones, Sr., makes prime use of the rolling foothills at the base of the ridge.

Nature and Recreation Programs  - The Nature Center offers a variety of nature and recreation programs year-round. The programs are both educational and exciting, offering unique perspectives into the natural history of the area while offering a better understanding of flora, fauna, geology and other nature-based characteristics.

Swimming and Boating - Swimming and boating are available at Cacapon Resort State Park Lake. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend the swimming area offers a wide sandy beach. Lifeguards are on duty daily throughout the summer. Row boats and paddle boats can be rented for a float across the lake.

Fishing - Two areas at the park, the lake and reservoir, offer fishing opportunities. The lake is stocked in the spring for trout fishing, but other fish that can be caught are bass, catfish and blue gill. The reservoir is not stocked. Nearby fishing opportunities include the Potomac River and Cacapon River. Anyone under the age of 15 does not need a West Virginia Fishing License but must be accompanied by a licensed adult. Anglers over 15 years of age are required to obtain a fishing license with proper stamps. Short term fishing licenses are sold at Cacapon Lodge.

Game Courts - Take advantage of the game courts available at Cacapon.  Tennis courts, Paved basketball court, Sand volleyball court.
